Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to the web site of Coppice Primary School and thank you for taking the time to find out about us. I am delighted to be the headteacher of such a warm and welcoming school.

Coppice Primary School has a longstanding reputation for high academic standards and development of the whole child. Visitors invariably comment on the caring ethos of the school - a balance between hard work and enjoyment.

Our children prepare for the world in which they live and work. We believe they need to be lifelong learners, adapt quickly to new situations, work effectively with other people and think creatively. They learn self-confidence, independence, honesty and a sense of responsibility for themselves and others. They also have great fun and are happy.

As a multi-cultural community, we promote tolerance and respect for all. We value the individual contributions of all our pupils and encourage them to develop their full potential as learners through high-quality teaching. 

Our school offers a range of educational experiences, visitors to school and enrichment through sport, art, music, dance, gardening and our wonderful forest school programme. We have achieved our Rights Respecting Bronze award from Unicef and we are currently striving to achieve our Silver award. 

Ofsted reported in April 2019 that: "Children get off to a flying start in the Reception classes...they are well prepared for the next stage of their education by the time they leave primary school." They also stated that "Leaders' work to promote pupils' personal development is second to none. As a result, pupils are confident, resilient and proud of their personal achievements."
