Forest School

Forest Fun sessions will take place on alternate Thursday afternoons. Wear school uniform, but please send your child with appropriate clothing in a named bag; wellies, coat, waterproofs, gloves, change of socks etc. (please label all items). They will get muddy!

PE Days

In Year 2, our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please send your children to school in their PE kits. Wednesday will be outdoor PE, so please dress appropriately for the weather.

Golden Time is every Friday. Please send in a small toy that fits into their school bag- nothing valuable, breakable or electronic. 

Reading Books

Books are sent home daily and must be returned the following day. Please look after the books - any damaged or lost books will need to be replaced before receiving a new book. All children will be regularly re-assessed to assure that they are reading a book at the correct level. This may occasionally mean that certain books need to be repeated to ensure children are reading at the correct level of fluency and accuracy.

Each Friday, the children will have the opportunity to choose a library book. This is their 'reading for pleasure' book, to share with an adult at home, and may not necessarily be matched to their Phonics ability.  These then need to be returned before the following Friday; no new books will be sent home until the previous library book has been returned.

Homework

Spellings containing the phoneme we have been learning during the week will be sent out weekly. (More information to follow.) Please help your child to learn their spellings. Maths homework is sent home on a sheet and is to be returned the following Wednesday - this is discussed and shared in class.
